What about Frank Destefano

About

Frank J. DeStefano was born in April of 1949 in San Francisco, and from a very early age was interested in anything that involved working with his hands. He reviled in shop classes in school, and loved projects that involved making things starting with making his own magic tricks, because he couldn't afford to buy them, and went on to small furniture projects, metal projects, as well anything involving plants and animals. He has a real love for anything alive and for many years was very involved with saltwater fish, and shells and undersea life.

In 1974, he met and married Marlys, and that began a creative team. Starting almost immediately, they started making lights from sea urchins, as well as all different types of shells. They started to do craft shows, eventually culminating in doing the prestigious Harvest Festival circuit for 15 years. They expanded their line to include beautiful montages , using shells and feathers. In 1989, they started to do copper waterfalls and decided , in 1991 to do only wholesale and get off the road. For 12 years, they built their waterfall and garden ornament line, and have had their pieces in Smithsonian Catalog and Wind and Weather. They also have been in galleries in the U.S. Mainland, Hawaii, Europe, Singapore and Japan.

In 2001, they decided to semi retire, and purchased a P.T. Cruiser. That creative bug just couldn't be quieted, and Frank proceeded to design a beautiful and whimsical rendition of the P.T. which he had made into both pendants and pins. He has also designed what he calls "Grille Frills" to go alongside the grill on the front of the P.T.

Frank's lifetime interest in motorcycles is beginning to spawn design ideas for custom motorcycle accessories. More to come!

More creations will be forthcoming from this creative, idea person who just can't be held down. The future will bring new creative innovations from this wonderfully prolific artist, while he also enjoys the best years of his life.
